You must make sure that you get the correct size of bar stool so that your kitchen looks good and the seating is practical. When measuring the area for the stools remember that retailers measure bar stools from the floor to the height of the stool. Always leave at least nine inches between the seat and counter top for comfort. Standard kitchen stools are twenty four to twenty six inches. Stools for tall poser tables are approximately thirty to thirty four inches.
If you are installing a number of stools allow 21 inches between standard stools and 24 inches between larger stools. Also remember to leave room for air to circulate behind the stools. If you are designing your kitchen from scratch, consider the view that you will get while sitting at the counter.
